This actor does his best, but the material is so incredibly stupid
The plot is intriguing, but it has a stupidly executed CBS crime procedural. I watched it for the cast, the moral dilemma, and the mystery of the premise, but the trailer had more real plot clarity than the movie itself. To enjoy this movie, you have to stare lovingly at Nicholas Hoult’s handsome face and let Toni Collette’s convincingly strong performance distract you from the fact that the writers assume that no one understands how the courts or the courts work.
And the ending leaves a lot to be desired
